Chequers and Central & Cecil (C&C) have signed an agreement that will see us providing grounds maintenance services at C&C’s 49 sites in London. We have provided cleaning services for several years and will now tend to the outside spaces as well.
Starting in April, C&C residents will see fortnightly gardening services being delivered by uniformed Chequers horticultural operatives. Initially the focus will be on grass cutting and, as the seasons evolve, the shrubs, borders, beds and hedges will all get the attention they need.
For C&C residents that are interested in engaging with us, there will be some community initiatives to inspire the green-fingered. Already planned is a sunflower growing competition, with the tallest in line for recognition. Seeds, plant pots and soil will be provided by Chequers.
Outside green spaces are important for the wellbeing of residents, local communities and for wildlife. Having a three-year arrangement will ensure continuity and ongoing investment in the environments that mean so much to so many.
