A big congratulations to our colleague Cat Kelly who completed a 26 mile trek on the 31st August for the Alzheimers Society. Along with her sister, Cat managed to raise a whooping £1,740 for the charity. The trek started and finished at Hudson’s Field, Salisbury taking in the famous landmarks of Salisbury Cathedral (pictured below)
Team Chequers have taken on another challenge for charity, this time swapping their cosy beds for the hard-concrete floor for one night to raise important funds for homelessness charity Evolve. Almost 6000 metres high, with oxygen at a minimum, Billy Jeal looked out across the Tanzanian horizon having accomplished something fantastic. In the early hours of the morning on the 30th October, Billy had reached the summit of the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro, raising £6000 in the process.
Chequers played an important part in One Housing’s recent Volunteer Days at one of their properties in Camden. Our Electrical & Building Supervisor Rand was on hand to deliver materials to the site, while assisting and instructing volunteers who gave up their time to redecorate and regenerate the property, inside and out.
