We were honoured to join a host of like-minded businesses at The International CSR Excellence Awards ceremony, where we picked up an award for our environmental practices.
Chequers was awarded the Bronze award for Sustainability at the ceremony in The Palace of Westminster for our efforts to drive down emissions and lower our carbon footprint. Our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle policy adopted throughout the business has seen us reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill.
Our Grounds Maintenance department for example now recycle 99% of waste produced by converting green waste into compost and wood chippings etc, which can be reused on sites. We are also pleased to announce that our joint-venture company Renovo Facilities and Services Ltd picked up an award for their training process.
Renovo won a Silver award for Training, in recognition of the extra teaching given to staff to give them the skills to work with vulnerable residents. Renovo was formed by Chequers and One Housing with the aim of creating a facilities management service centred on the specific and varied needs of One Housing’s residents.
